tyler is flying a kite on 1300 feet of string. how high is it above the ground if the horizontal distance between tyler and the kite is 500 feet

we use Pythagorean Theorem the find the height h of the kite:
h^2 = 1300^2 - 500^2 (make a drawing)
h^2 = 1440000
h^2 = 1200^2
h = 1200 ft (we take the positive solution since the height can not be negative number)
the kite is 1200 ft above the ground.
