what is left is 1 - 2/3 = 1/3 of the length or:
(1/3)(7 1/2) = (1/3)((7*2 + 1)/2) = (1/3)(15/2) = 15/6 = 2 3/6 = 2 1/2 mi
2 1/2 miles or 2.5 miles must be built to complete the project.
