Problema Solution

A sink is being filled with water. After 15 seconds the sink is 1/4 full. How much longer will it take to fill the sink if the water rate is constant?

Answer provided by our tutors

the rate is 1/4 sink in 15 seconds or v = (1/4)/15 sink per second

v = 1/60 sinks per second

t = the time needed to fill one sink

1 since / t = v

1/t = 1/60

t = 60 seconds

it takes 60 second to fill the sink.

60 - 15 = 45 second

after 45 seconds the sink will be full.
