Problema Solution

Since Halloween is right around the corner, and I love candy, I went shopping for candy over the weekend. I went to three different candy stores all around Macon. The first store I went to, Economy Candy, I bought 3 ounces of candy for $4.50. The next place I went to is one of my favorites: Dylan’s Candy Bar. Here I spent $9.06 for 6 ounces of candy. My last stop was at The Sweet Life where candy was priced at $5.96 for four ounces of candy. At which store did I get the best deal?

The first store I went to, Economy Candy, I bought 3 ounces of candy for $4.50:

the cost per ounce of candy in this store is: 4.50/3 = $1.50 per oz

The next place I went to is one of my favorites: Dylan’s Candy Bar. Here I spent $9.06 for 6 ounces of candy:

the cost per ounce of candy in this store is: 9.06/6 = $1.51 per oz

My last stop was at The Sweet Life where candy was priced at $5.96 for four ounces of candy:

the cost per ounce of candy in this store is: 5.96/4 = $1.49 per oz

Since 1.49 < 1.50 < 1.51 follows the The Sweet Life store has the best deal.
