A rectangular lot is to be enclosed along four sides and then divided into two parts by another fence parallel to two of the sides. Find the dimensions of the lot if the total amount of fencing is 190 meters and the area is 1500 sq m.

We assume the two sides are x and y
2x + 2y = 190
y = 95-x
Area = x*y = x(95-x) = 1500
We solve it
x(95-x) = 1500
x = 20
So the two sides are 20 meters and 75 meters
