Problema Solution

The circumference of the front wheel of the car is 10dm and that of the hind wheel in 16dm . How many revolutions more will the first wheel make than the second in covering a distance of 96km

Answer provided by our tutors

Circumference of the front wheel: 10 dm

Number of revolutions taken to cover 10 dm: 1

Number of revolutions taken to cover: 9600 dm/10dm = 960

Circumference of the hind wheel: 16 dm

Number of revolutions taken to cover 16 dm: 1

Number of revolutions taken to cover: 9600 dm/16dm = 600

Number of extra revolutions made by the front wheel than hind wheel:

960 - 600 = 360 revolutions.
