The stopping distance D of the car after the brakes are applied very directly as the square of the speed R, if a car traveling 50 miles an hour can stop in 140 feet, how many feet will it take the same car to stop when it is traveling 20 miles an hour?

Answer provided by our tutors

50^2/140 = 20^2 /x

x=400 * 140 / 2500
