find the lenght of the base of a pyramid with a rectangular base whose width is 18 cm and whose altitude is 36 cm.

Altitude of the side traingle = square root of ( (18 /2)^2 + 36 ^2) =37.1 cm;
Length of the base of the pyramid= 2[ sqrt ( 37^2- 36^2)]=17cm
so the length of the base is 17cm
