Problema Solution

A milk container is in the form of a form of a frustum of a cone.The area of the bases are 616 square cm and 254 square cm respectively, and whose height is 38 cm.Find the number of liters of milk the the container will hold.

Answer provided by our tutors

Area =pie R^2

Area/pie=R^2

sqrt(Area/pie)=R

Putting value

sqrt(616/pie)=R

R=14cm

2nd radius r

r=sqrt(Area/pie)

r=sqrt(254/pie)

r=9

Now writing the formula for Volume of

Volume=pie*h/3*(R^2+r^2+r*r)

Volume=pie*38/3*(142+92+14*9)

Volume =pie*38/3*(196+81+126)

Volume =pie*38/3*(403)

Volume=16028.7 cubic cm

As 1 litre =1000 cm cube

So 16028.7/1000

16 litres of milk container can hold
