Problema Solution

The width of a rectangle is fixed at 23 cm. What lengths will make the peremter greater then 92 cm?

A rectangle has four sides, two sets of matching lengths.

If the width, is 23cm, then two of the sides have to be 23cm. 2*23=46.

The perimeter is the length around all four sides of the rectangle, much like thecircumference of a circle. If the total is 92cm and, the width alone is 46, you need to subtract the latter from the first to see what is left.

92cm - 46 cm = 46cm. Half of this would be 23cm, which would give you the length.

But this must be a trick question, as 23 would make the object a square, so in order to make it a rectangle, it must be one higher: 24.

So, the length must be greater, or equal to 24cm
