Let x be the time spent on jogging , and y be the time spent on walking
Equation 1 : x + y = 1
Equation 2: 8x + 4y = 6
By rearranging Equation 1 : y = 1 - x, and substitute it into Equation 2:
8x + 4(1-x) = 6
8x - 4x + 4 = 6
4x = 2
x = 0.5 hours
Thus, y = 1- 0.5 = 0.5 hours
Hence, the walking distance is 4 * 0.5 = 2 km
