The speed of a passenger train is 14mph faster than the speed of a freight train. The passenger train travels 320 miles in the same time it takes the freight train to travel 250 miles. Find the speed of each train.

then speed of freight train will be x-14
time taken by bothis same 2 travel 320 miles by passenger train and 250 mile by frieght train
=> x/320 = (x-14)/250
=> x/32 = (x-14)/25
=> 25x = 32x - 32*14
=> 7x = 14 *32
=> x = 64
thus the speed of passenger train is 64mi per hr
and speed of freight train = 64 -14 =50 mi per hr
