Let x be the number of hours take the car to pass the truck.
In x hours car can travel x*72 miles.
(In x+5/60) =x+1/12 H truck can travel (x+1/2)*60 =6x+30.
Equating both distances.
60x+30=72x.
30=72x-60.
12x=30.
x=30/12
=2.5 = 2 H 30 minutes.
After 2 H 30 minutes the car enters the highway it recahes the truck.
