In exchange for opening a new credit account, a department store subtracts 10% from first purchase. I have a coupon for 10% off a camera. I open the account and my total purchase is 77.75. How much was the price before the two discounts?

so price after first discount is 0.9x
then the price after 2nd discount is 0.81x
=>0.81x = 77.75
=>x = 96
