A chemist has two acid solution. One is 60% acid solution and the other is 30% acid solution. How many liters of each should she mix so that she obtains 10 liters of 51% of acid solution?

We assume the two acid solution is x and y, so the sum of two solutions is (x+y)

The equation si

x + y = 10

60%*x + 30%*y = 51%*10

We solve it

x = 7

y = 3

So

60% acid solution: 7 litters

30% acid solution: 3 litters
