Problema Solution

Jay is twice as old as Larry. in 3 years the sum of their ages will be 54. how old are they now?

Answer provided by our tutors

J = 2L

(J+3) + (L+3) = 54

Put J=2L in second equation:

(2L+3) + (L+3) = 54

3L+6= 54

3L= 48

L= 16 years

so, J=2L means J = 16*2 = 32 years

Age of Jay = 32 years,

age of Larry = 16 years
