Problema Solution

Dan orders supplies for the science chemistry lab. Each of the 27 stations in the lab needs 5 feet of rubber tubing. If rubber tubing sells for $8.75 per yard how much will it cost to equip all stations? (Round to nearest hundredth)

Answer provided by our tutors

Number of stations = 27

Amount of rubber tubing each station requires = 5 feets

=> Total amount of rubber tubing required = Number of stations * Requirement for each station

= 27 * 5 = 135 feets

1 yard = 3 feet

=> Yards of tubing required = 135/3 = 45 yards

Cost of tubing = $8.75 / yard

=> Cost of equiping all stations = 8.75*45 = $393.75
