The base of a triangle is 3 cm greater than the height. The area is 27cm^2. Find the height and the length of the base.

Base = h + 3
A = 27 cm^2
Area = 1/2 base x height
27 = 1/2 (h+3)(h)
27x2 = (h+3)(h)
54 = h^2 + 3h
h^2 + 3h - 54 = 0
solving it we get
x = 6 and x = -9
since it cant be -ve
therefore
x = 6 ans
