Problema Solution
NHL Hockey crests are each 7.62 cm across. You are asked to mount them in rows on a display board so that there are 2.54 cm between each crest and the one next to it in a row. You are to leave 3.81 cm at each end of each row on the display board. How wide must the display board be to display 5 crests in a row?

The answer is 55.88 cm.
Solution :
The problem can be seen as leaving 3.81 cm space at both ends which gives us 7.62 cm at the ends.
Further, 5 crests have to be placed, which gives us 7.62 x 5 = 38.1 cm in between (not including spaces yet).
However, there have to be 4 spaces ( Picture this as AXOXOXOXOXA, where A is the space left at the end, X is a crest and O represents empty space). So 4 x 2.54 gives us 10.16 cm.
Adding all these for the arrangement gives us our final answer 55.88 cm.
