Problema Solution
A thermometer is guarnanteed to give a tempertature no more than 1.2 degrees F from the actual tempertature. If the thermometer read 28 degrees F, what is the range for the actual temperature?
Answer provided by our tutors
the range will be 1.2 degrees higher than 28 to 1.2 degrees lower than 28.
so add & subtract 1.2 from 28
28 - 1.2 = 26.8
28 + 1.2 = 29.2
so the range is from 26.7 degrees to 29.2 degrees
you can also write this as 26.7 <= t <= 29.2
