Yikes McTugg bought one- half pound of potato salad. He ate two-thirds of it for lunch. How much potato salad was left for an afternoon snack?

Initial amount of potato = 1.5 pounds.
The amount of potato eaten for lunch = (2/3)*1.5 = 2*1.5/3 = 3/3 =1 pound.
So amount of potato left for afternoon snack = 1.5 -1 = 0.5 pounds = 1/2 pounds.
