x+y = 50
60x + 85y = 50(70)
60x + 85y = 3500
solve for x in the first
x = 50-y
substitute in the second
60(50-y) + 85y = 3500
3000 - 60y + 85y = 3500
3000 +25y = 3500
25y = 500
y = 20
and x = 50-y = 50-20 = 30
so she should use 30 kg of the coffee with php 60 and 20 kg of coffee with php 85
