An airplane travels 2708km against the wind in 4 hours and 3268 with the wind in the same amount of time. What is the rate of the plane in still air and what is the rate of the wind?

- Speed with the wind => S +W = 3268/4 =817 km per hour...................(1)
where s= plane spped and w = wind speed
simillarly sppeed against the wind = S - W = 2708/4 = 677 km per hour .................(2)
Now by adding these equations we get
2S =817 +677 = 1494 hence S = 1494/2 = 747 km per hour is right answer
and hence W = 817 - 747 = 70 km per hour
