Problema Solution

Two canoes travel down a river, starting at 9:00 a.m One canoe travels twice as fast as the other. After 3.5 hour, the canoes are 5.25 mile apart. Find the speed of each canoe

Answer provided by our tutors

Let x be the speed of one canon then the speed of second canon =2x.

3.5x+2x*3.5=5.25.

10.5x=5.25.

x=5.25/10.5

=0.5 miles per H.

The speed of other canon =2x=2*0.5

=1 mile per H.
