Problema Solution

in a sequence, starting at the second term every value of the respective term is twice the sum of the two preceding terms' values. That is, to get the value of the fourth term, you would add the values of the second and third terms and double that sum. The seventh term of the sequence has a value 8, and the ninth term has a value of 24. What is the value of the eleventh term in the sequence?

first figure out what the eitghth term is

7th + 8th = 9th

8 + 8th = 24

8th = 24 - 8

8th = 16

now add the 8th and 9th terms to get the 10th term

10th = 16 + 24 = 40

now add the 9th and 10th terms to get the 11th term

11th = 24 + 40 = 64

64 is the eleventh term in the sequence
