In the same year there were 37,200 students at college b with projected enrollment decline of 500 students per year. When will colleges have same enrollment? What will enrollment be at each college?

After x years the total enrollments in college a = 17700+1000x
After x years the total enrollments in college b = 37200-500x
So let they have equal enrollments is given as
17700+1000x = 37200-500x
=> 1500x = 37200-17700
=>1500x = 19500
=> x = 13 years
Enrollemnts = 17700+13*1000=30700
