Answer provided by our tutors

The sum of the length and girth of a rectangle box must be smaller than 96 inches. The girth is one half the length. We have to find out length of the rectangle box.

Let grith of the box is x inches, so that the length is 2x inches.

Given that x+2x<96,

i.e., 3x<96,

i.e., x<32

Thus length 2x<64.

For example, if girth = 25(<32) inches, then length = 50(<64) inches, so that the sum = 75 (<96) inches.

Therefore, length of the box is given by the set {2x:0
