Let y be number 50 cents
Change is 20 - 8.75 = 11.25 dollars = 1125 cents
x+y = 30
25x + 50y = 1125
-25x-25y = -750
25x+50y = 1125
25y = 375
y = 15
x + 15 = 30
x =15
So, 15 quarters and 15 fifty cents
