Georgiana made a planter box shaped like a rectangular prism for her back porch. She fills the planter box with soil.
The box measures 1ft tall in height
The two long sides of the rectangular prism measure 3ft in length each
The two short sides of the rectangular prism measures 2ft in width each
Georgiana wants to paint the outside surfaces and bottom of her planter box. How many square feet will she paint? Show and explain how you got your answer. ( We thought the answer was 20 square feet, but we were told it was wrong)

1) You know the dimmensions of the box are 1x3x2.
2) Do 2x3 for the front face, which is 6. now multiply that by 4, since there are 4 of those same faces.
3) Do 2x1 for the side faces, which is 2, now multiply that by 2, since there are 2 of those same faces.
4) You should now have 24 and 4. Add those together
5)Your answer should be 28 square feet.
