A long distance trucker traveled 260 miles in one direction during a snowstorm. The return trip in rainy weather was accomplished at double the speed and took 5 hours less time. Find the speed

Let the intial journey be completed at x hours and the speed be v. 260/x = v and for return. 260/x-5 = 2v => xv = 2xv - 10v => 10v = xv => x = 10 hours. Inital speed = 26 m/hr
