Peter and mark have a total of $50. Peter has three times as much money as mark. If x is the amount of money mark has, what is a reasonable solution to a system of equations describing their money?

so peter must have 3x amount
they have the total of $50..
therefore, equation => 3x+x=50__________equation 1
=> 4x=50
=>x=50/4=12.5
so, mark has $12.5
and peter has $(3*12.5)=$37.5.
