A tea dealer mixes two brands of tea X and Y to obtain 35kg of the mixture worth 65 shillings per kg. If brand X is valued at 68 shillings per kg and brand Y is valued at 53 shillings per kg, caluculate the ratio in which the brand X and Y are mixed

and brand y is ykg
thus,
x+y=35
and 68x+53y= 65*35=> 68x+53y=2275
solving we get
x=28 and y=7
thus ratio x/y=28/7=4:1
