1. how long does it take for the ball to come back down to the ground after it is kicked?
2. what is the highest the ball will go?

we find
-4t^2 + 24t = 0
vertex is (3, 36) and solutions are 0, 6
so max height = 36 feet
and ball will hit ground after 6 seconds.
