ticket cost for others=3$
let no of students who bought the ticket =x
then no of.'others' who bought the ticket =500-x.
under given constraints the following inequality can be developed
1.5x + (500-x)*3 > 1000
1500 - 1.5x > 1000
1.5x < 500
x < 500*(2/3)
x < 333.33
since no of people cannot be a fractional no.
hence minimum value of x =334
because with 333 Students the collection wont exceed a 1000$,actually it is exactly a 1000$ thousand dollars if 333 students purchase the tickets.
