Gabe need 30 liters of a 40% acid solution. He currently has a 30% solution and a 60% solution. How many liters of each does he need to make the needed 30 liters of 40% acid solution

30% solution .............x liters

60% solution.............30-x liters

40%.......................30 liters (requirement)

Even if we convert it, we again multiply by 100 for easy calculation

..

30*x+60*(30-x)=40*30

30x+1800-60x=1200

-30x = -600

x = 20

 He needs 20 liters 30% soln and 10 litres of 60%
