Problema Solution
These problems perplex me I have no idea what the midpoint is from the line segment from P1 to P2 is (-4,6) so if P1 = (-3,6) what is P2 ?
Answer provided by our tutors
P = (-4, 6) is the midpoint for the segment P1P2
P1 = (-3, 6)
P2 = (x, y)
Since P is midpoint we use the formula for midpoint:
(1/2)(-3 + x) = - 4

........
x = -5
(1/2)(6 + y) = 6
........
click here to see the equation solved for y
........
y = 6
The point P2 has the following coordinates (-5, 6)
