Two pails of different sizes contain 34.5 liter of water together. When 0.68 liter of water is poured from the bigger pail into the smaller pail, the amount of water in the bigger pail is 9 times that of smaller pail. how much water was there in each pail to start

x = the amount of water in the bigger pail

y = the amount of water in the smaller pail

x + y = 34.5

x - 0.68 =9(x + 0.68)
