When Loraine and Gabriel both work, they can paint a certain house in 8 days. Also they could just paint this house if Loraine work 12 days and Gabriel for 6 days. How long would it take each to paint the house?

y = the days Gabriel needs to paint the house alone, y>0

1/x house per day is the rate of Loraine

1/y house per day is the rate of Gabriel

1/x + 1/y = 1/8

12/x + 6/y = 1
