Problema Solution

A car is twice as old as the car’s engine was when the car was as old as the engine is. The ratio of the engine’s age now to the car’s age now is what?

Answer provided by our tutors

When a car was 'x' years old, a new engine was put into the car.  Now twice as old as the car was, the engine is now also 'x' years old.  The ratio of the engine's age to the car's age would be:

x/(2x)

1/2

So the ratio is one half.
