Problema Solution
A twin-engine plane flies 720 mi in the same amount of time as it takes a single-engine plane to fly 440 mi. The rate of the twin-engine plane is 70 mph faster than the rate of the single-engine plane. Find the rate of the twin-engine plane
Answer provided by our tutors
Solution:
Set the time as "T", the Twin-engine plane's rate is X
720/x =T , 440/(x-70)=T
so X = 180
rate of the twin-engine plane is 180mph
