Sarah's age is 2/3 of Mary's age and 3/4 of Ruth's age. The sum of their ages is 46 years. How old is each?

let the ages of sarah, mary and ruth be s, m and r respectively
acc to question,
s = 2/3 m = 3/4 r ---------------------(1)
and also,
s+m+r =46
=> 2/3m + m + 8/9m =46
=> m = 8.11 years = 8 years (say)
hence, s = 5years approx.
r = 7years
