Mr. Hernandez had 10 of his students run a timed mile. They ran the mile. 6 out of 10 ran faster. What fraction of the students did NOT run faster?

If 6 out of 10 ran faster then the rest of them did NOT run faster.
That is 10 - 6 = 4 out of 10 did not run faster.
Thus the fraction will be 4/10 = 2/5 of the students did not run faster.
