Bacteria cultivated in a laboratoy have exponential growth. if a population of 500 bacteria increases to 900 after 1 hour how may bacteria are present after 7 hours?

Solution:

Because the Bacteria have exponential growth

So the pupulation P(t) =  P0*a^t

When t =1, a = 900/500 =1.8

So

P(7)/P0 = 1.8^7 = 61.22

So

P(7) = 61.22*500 = 30611

SO 7 hours later there are 30611 bacteria
