A victory liner bus traveling at a rate of 70 km/h leaves the station 2hrs after a freight truck has left and overtakes it in 5hrs. At what rate was the freight truck traveling?

v1 = 70 km/h the rate of the victory linear bus
t1 = 5 hr the time of the travel of the victory bus till the overtake
v2 = the rate of a the freight truck
t2 = 7 hr the time of travel of the freight truck till the overtake
since rate = distance/time => distance = rate*time
the bus and the truck traveled the same distance thus
v1*t1 = v2*t2
70*5 = 7*v2
v2 = (70*5)/7
v2 = 50 km/h
the rate of the freight truck is 50 km/h.
