a = the length of the side of the squared piece, a>5 (because if a < 5 it will not be possible to cut off the 5 in off the corner)
the sides of the box will be:
the base is square with side: a - 2*5 = a - 10 in
the height of the box is: h = 5 in
the volume of the box is:
(a - 10)(a - 10)*h = 150
(a - 10)(a - 10)*5 = 150
by solving we find:
a = 15.48 in
