Problema Solution
Define the shape of the rectangular area by establishing a relationship between the length and width of the rectangle. For example, L = 2W + 5, or W = 3L – 4. Be sure to include the appropriate units (inches, feet, yards, miles, or meters).

Let's say that you determine that L = 2W + 5 is the relationship between the width and length.
Area = L * W, so substitute and A = (2W + 5) * W = 2W^2 + 5W
An acre is 43560 sq feet. So
43560 = 2W^2 + 5W
2W^2 + 5W - 43560 = 0
Now do the quadratic equation and
W = (-5 +/- sqrt(5^2 - 4 * 2 * -43560)) / (2 * 2)
W = (-5 +/- sqrt(25 + 348480)) / 4
W = (-5 +/- sqrt(348505)) / 4
W = (-5 +/- 590.34) / 4
W = -595.34 / 4 or W = 585.34 / 4
W = -147.59 ft or W = 146.33 ft
We can throw out the negative value and keeping 146.33 ft, L = 2 * 146.33 + 5 = 297.67 ft.
A length and width like that will enclose an acre of ground.
The perimeter will be 2 * 146.33 + 2 * 297.67 = 292.66 + 595.34 = 888 ft of fencing
