Problema Solution

If the perimeter of a rectangle coutyard is 332 yards and the length is 1 yard longers than twice the width, then what are the length and width

Answer provided by our tutors

PERIMETER OF RECTANGLE COURTYARD IS =332 YARDS

NOW GIVEN length is 1 yard longers than twice the width

LET WIDTH=w = x yards

now according to given condition

length=l= (2x+1)yards

as perimeter of rectangle is = l+l+w+w

                                        =2x+1+2x+1+x+x

as perimeter of rectangle is     =(6x+2) yards

as given perimeter of rectangle=332 yards

                              6x+2       =332

                             6x+2-2=332-2

                                  6x+0=330

                                6x=330

                               x=330/6

                               x=55 yards which is width of rectangle

             now length =2x+1

               puuting the values

            length=2(55)+1

           length=110+1

                 =111 yards
