Problema Solution
In the lab, Deandre has two solutions that contain alcohol and is mixing them with each other. Solution A is 60% alcohol and Solution B is 10%alcohol. He uses 400 milliliters of Solution A. How many milliliters of Solution B does he use, if the resulting mixture is a 30% alcohol solution?
Answer provided by our tutors
Let total amount =x
Amount of B = y
So x-y = 400 ...(1)
Again
240 +0.1y = 0.3 x
or 0.3x - 0.1y = 240 ...(2)
Solvon the two equations : x= 1000 and y=600
So ampunt of B = 600 ml
Total amount =1000 ml
