Given the following quadratic equation, determine if it has a maximum or a minimum value. Then find the maximum or minimum value. Please show all of your work. f (x)=2x^2+3x-9=

Answer provided by our tutors

As the coeffcient of x^2 term is positive it has minimum value.

Minimum value is given by f(-b/2a).

-b/2a=-3/2*2=-3/4.

f(-3/4)=2*(-3/4)^2+3*-3/4-9.

(9/8)-(9/4)-9.

(9-18-72)/8.

=-81/8.
