Problema Solution

A man throws a ball straight up in the air with an initial speed of 24 meter per second.What is the maximum height of the ball above the point where it was thrown?

Answer provided by our tutors

When the speed decreases to zero, the height is max.

The time is t to decrease to zero

t = v/g = 24/9.8 = 2.45 s

So the height is

h = v*t/2 = 24*2.45/2 = 29.39 m

So the max height is 29.39 m
